News and Events

The Lucan Concert Band are available to perform at many different events – whether it be a local festival or even on a CD recording such as the recent recording with The Gandhis on their single ‘Guy Like Me’. If you would like us to perform at an event you are organising please contact us. The Lucan Concert Band are in the process of setting up a Junior Band which will cover a range of instruments including Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Trumpet, Saxophone, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba and Percussion and will cover a variety of music ranging from grades 1-4. Lessons can be arranged on all of the above instruments at the Lucan School of Music. If you or your child are interested in joining the Junior Band please contact us and we will give you further details. The Senior Band are also currently looking for new members, particularly on percussion. The Bands first performance this year will be at the Lucan Festival on Sunday 25th September in Lucan Village. The Band will also be playing regularly at Masses in the Lucan area throughout the year – more information and dates to follow. The Lucan Concert Band are planning their Christmas concerts already and hope to link with recorder students from both St. Mary’s BNS and St. Mary’s GNS for an exciting afternoon of music. The Lucan Concert Band will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2013 and plans are currently underway to make sure this is a memorable occasion. If you would like to be involved in any way please get in contact with us.
