The Lucan Concert Band is pleased and willing to play at local events, and has become a regular part of Lucan’s St. Patrick’s Day extravaganza, the Lucan Festival and Rúaille Búaille, performing by the Village Green to the obvious enjoyment of the crowds that gather there each year.

Competitions:

The Lucan Concert Band take part in the National Band Championships of Ireland every year. Bands from all over Ireland take part in the event. The Lucan Concert Band have won their section many times and continue to enjoy the experience of performing on some of the big stages across the country including the Cork School of Music and the Helix at DCU. In July of 2006, Lucan Concert Band travelled to the international festival at Midsomer Norton in Wales, where, against international opposition, they were awarded a gold medal in the European Band section.

Rehearsals:

The Band practices every Monday in St. Mary’s Boys' National School in Lucan 8-10pm, and is grateful to Mr. Cronin and the management of the school for the use of their facilities.
